Travel Guide and Tips

For many Westerners, Persia is a distant and fabled land, a cradle of ancient monuments and art treasures, filled with intricate carpets, mosaics, stunning pottery, miniatures, and metalwork.

There’s lots to love in this country and of course, Iran also has gorgeous nature galore – from the Persian Gulf to the Caspian shore, bordering the world’s largest inland body of water. In between, beguiling cities, deserts, and mountains will stir the soul of any visitor.

Travel to Iran itself is the greatest “adventure.”  But for dynamic fun, we’d definitely recommend skiing, photography, surfing, motorcycling, motor sports, and drag racing, flying, rafting, backpacking, rock/mountain climbing, team sports, hunting/fishing, and skydiving.

The Islamic dress code has been somewhat relaxed recently, but the following rules still apply: Women wear a scarf that covers their hair (freedom in the color and pattern of the scarf), and the woman’s outfit should cover her entire body when she is outside of her hotel room. It is possible to buy an Islamic “manteau” that costs about € 35-40 or wear long-sleeved tunics that cover the knees, loose-fitting trousers or a long skirt. Women must already have a headscarf when landing in Iran. Men can wear short-sleeved t-shirts; shorts are not recommended.

There’s a lot of propaganda surrounding Iran. The situation between the USA and Iran is particularly tense but, according to our local contacts, in Iran, life is going on as normal, despite what the Western media says.

Iran’s image from abroad is quite different to what is really felt in Iran. Iran is very safe and in complete peace. Many tourists are surprised to find Iran in such tranquility. Many tourists specially their families back home have doubts before traveling to Iran but after their trip they are very glad they came. Tourist are highly respected and taken care of in Iran.
